Standar Safety Wearpack: Panduan Lengkap untuk Berbagai Industri

Safety Wearpack Standards: A Complete Guide for Various Industries

A workwear pack is more than just a work uniform. It's the primary layer of protection tailored to the risk level of each work environment. To avoid making the wrong choice, first understand the level of protection.

1. Basic Protection

Suitable for:

  • Light manufacturing, warehousing, service workshops, or non-chemical daily work.

Main features:

  • The drill/cotton twill material is thick but still breathable.
  • Covers the entire body to protect from dust, oil and dirt.
  • Reflective tape can be added for night visibility.

2. Intermediate Level – Chemical & Weather Resistant

Used in:

  • Outdoor work: ports, fisheries, wetland construction, offshore oil & gas.

Main features:

  • Water-repellent or PVC-coated layer to withstand rain and seawater splashes.
  • Sealed seam to prevent water penetration.
  • Ventilation is maintained so that it is not stuffy.

Note: Marine environment does not require high grade fire retardant material, just water & salt resistant.

3. High Level – Flame & Heat Resistant

Required for:

  • Oil and gas industry, metal casting, petrochemicals, mining.

Main features:

  • Flame retardant materials such as Nomex®, Proban®, or modacrylic blend .
  • Withstands sparks, radiant heat, even molten metal splashes.
  • Sometimes equipped with an anti-static coating to prevent static electricity sparks.

4. Extreme Level – Multi-Hazard / High-Risk

For:

  • Environments with a combination of hazards : fire, aggressive chemicals, very high temperatures, or electrical risks.

Main features:

  • Coating combination: FR (fire resistant) + chemical barrier + arc-flash rating .
  • International certifications such as NFPA 2112 , IEC 61482 , or ISO 11612 .

How to Choose a Wearpack According to Risk

  1. Identifying Major Hazards
Fire, chemicals, wet weather, or a combination of all of them?

  2. Customize Materials & Certification
    – Outdoor marine: focus on waterproof & anti-corrosion .
    – Fire area: flame retardant is mandatory.
    – High voltage electricity: arc-flash rated .

  3. Pay Attention to Comfort
Ventilation, fabric weight, and ergonomic cut to keep workers comfortable.
